About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the My Date Night app for iPhone and iPad and the My Date Night website. My Date Night helps two people link their accounts and share date plans, to-do items, saved ideas, places, and profile details.
Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, an account identifier, and authentication information. You may also add a display name and profile photo. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; My Date Night does not display or store your readable password.
Content you choose to add
We store the plans, dates and times, places, notes, categories, reminders, favorites, to-do items, assignments, date ideas, custom locations, and account link code information that you add to My Date Night.
Linked-account information
When you use a link code, we store the connection between your account and your partner’s account so the two of you can access shared content. Your linked partner can see and change shared plans, to-dos, and ideas.
Photos
If you choose a profile picture, the selected image is uploaded to private cloud storage and associated with your account. My Date Night does not access photos you do not select.
Places and location searches
You can search for a place through Apple MapKit or enter a custom place. Search terms and map interactions may be processed by Apple under Apple Maps & Privacy. My Date Night stores a place only when you choose to add it to a plan or idea. My Date Night does not continuously track your location.
Optional Together widget location
If you turn on location sharing for the Together widget, My Date Night periodically sends your device’s latest coordinates, location accuracy, and update time to Supabase. We use the two linked users’ latest locations to calculate an approximate distance and whether you appear to be together. Your raw coordinates are not displayed to your partner, My Date Night does not keep a location history for this feature, and location sharing is off until you choose to enable it.
Device storage and notifications
My Date Night keeps a local cache of shared content on your device so the app can load smoothly. If you enable a reminder, iOS schedules the notification on your device. My Date Night does not use notifications for advertising.
How we use information
We use your information only to provide, secure, maintain, and improve My Date Night. This includes creating and authenticating your account; linking you with the partner you choose; syncing shared content; displaying profile photos; scheduling the reminders you request; providing place search; calculating an approximate linked-partner distance when both users opt in; generating personalized date ideas; preventing misuse; and responding to support, privacy, or legal requests.
We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising, sell it, or use it to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Apple Intelligence
On supported devices, My Date Night uses Apple’s Foundation Models framework to create date ideas based on preferences, your area, and the titles and details of plans or ideas already in the app. That processing happens through Apple’s model on your device; My Date Night does not send the prompt or generated suggestion to our own AI server.
A generated idea is not added to your shared My Date Night data unless you choose to save it. On devices where Apple Intelligence is unavailable, My Date Night does not show the Ideas tab.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information and saved content while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate My Date Night, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. You can delete individual plans, to-do items, and ideas in the app. For Together location sharing, we retain only your latest submitted location rather than a location history. Turning the feature off, unlinking, or signing out removes that latest location from My Date Night’s active location store. Signing out also clears My Date Night’s shared-content cache from that device.
To request deletion of your account and associated data, use the developer support contact shown on My Date Night’s App Store product page. We may ask you to verify account ownership. Data may remain for a limited period in secure backups or where retention is required by law, then be deleted or de-identified under our standard processes.
Security
We use safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted network connections, authenticated access, database row-level security, private file storage, and time-limited profile-photo links. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your display name, profile photo, email address, and password in the app. You can choose whether to add content, select a photo, use place search, enable notifications, save an AI-generated idea, link with another account, or enable the Together widget’s location sharing. You can turn Together location sharing off in My Date Night and manage My Date Night’s location and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Submit a request through the developer support contact shown on My Date Night’s App Store product page. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
My Date Night is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to My Date Night, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as My Date Night changes. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
